Life is messy
It may not appear so because of the social media "highlight reels" we live in these days. It used to be that you would look at the lives of the rich and famous and it would be "OK" because everyone else is "normal".
However, today EVERYONE else seems to be living exceptional lives because we only see the happy, glamorous bits. Now, it doesn't feel OK anymore because even our friends are living the lives of the rich and famous!
You might have seen pics of my garden, trimmed hedges and manicured lawns. Highlights of our holidays, ski trips etc. It can appear like we are just having the time of our lives ALL THE TIME.
Well, there are messy bits as well. It's 2am in New Zealand and I woke up out of the blue, musing about various "stuff" and issues. I suppose I also have "challenges" no matter how we look on the outside.
In the pic below, if I had taken only a pic of the fire going, it would look pretty amazing, almost romantic.
But that's not the "whole picture".
There's also messy clothes hanging on the side. There's that blue gunny sack I am using to keep the wood chips from dropping all over the place.
When guests arrive, all these will be packed away to present a "beautiful home".
But it wouldn't be the full picture, and it is not who we really are.
I'm not even sure what made me write this post, haha. Anyway, hope this is encouraging to someone that "it's OK".
You don't have to have it together all the time.
You don't have to put up a front all the time.
It's OK.
