Ruth Truth 18: Are you tempted to take it easy?

Ruth Truth 18: Are you tempted to take it easy?

"So Ruth gleaned in the field until evening. Then she threshed the barley she had gathered...she carried it back to town..." Ruth 2:17

Don't stop.

By this time, Ruth was noticed by Boaz and he was showing her a lot of favour. He provided lunch and also instructed his workers to be kind and protect her.  It seems like she can now "take it easy" and coast along.

However, she didn't. Ruth continued working hard, all the way until evening and then carried whatever she had picked up back home.

It is ok to take a break, celebrate successes, but it would be a mistake to just "take it easy" from here on. This is easy to relate to regarding your business or career, to keep working at it.

How about money?

Many people have a budget and seemingly can keep their personal finance under control. Sometimes, where they slip is when increase comes. They may have been perfectly fine earning $5,000 a month and spending only $4,000, saving $1,000 (for example). But when they get a promotion, or a bonus, their livestyle expands together with it. And before you know it, they are regularly spending more. Hence whatever increase or favour that comes along, just "disappears".

Have you experienced increase / favour recently? Have you closed your circle and prayerfully consider what to do with it? Are you tempted to coast and take it easy?
