Ruth Truth 6: Being gracious

"...she happened to come to the portion of the field belonging to Boaz, .... Now behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem and said to the reapers, “May the Lord be with you.” And they said to him, “May the Lord bless you.” Ruth 2:3-4

We all know in the story that Boaz was a wealthy man. That is why he was able to redeem Naomi's land and also have workers under him.

But notice that he was obedient to the commandment to not pick everything from his field. He obeyed the commandment to leave whatever was dropped for the poor and alien.

How are you running your business or life? Are you constantly squeezing the last drop or are you gracious in sharing with others.

I am personally constantly challenged to not just be generous, but the STYLE with which it is done. It is one thing to give grudgingly, it is another to give with grace.

Afterall, we are royalty right?
